Artsy Toddler Story Time

11am – January 8th, February 5th, March 5th and April 2nd

This is a thirty minute story time with an art project for 2-5 year olds & parents.

NCRC Open Gym Schedule

Tot Time- Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 11am-12:30pm. Preschool age children and parents can come play in our gym and meet new friends. $1.00/child.

Home School Gym- Tuesday & Thursdays 1-2:30pm. All homeschool age children can have some gym time at NCRC. Basketball, volleyball, kickball and more is available during Homeschool Open Gym. $1.00/child.

Adult Open Gym is available starting in October. Saturdays from 10-11:30am. Gym time will vary between basketball and volleyball, be sure to check our monthly calendar to see what is happening at NCRC. $1.00/person.

Family Open Gym is available starting in October. Saturdays from 11:30-1pm. Bring the whole family out to play basketball, kickball, and 4-square or just to let the little ones run off some energy. Remember to check our monthly calendar for dates and times of what’s happening at NCRC. Family Open Gym- $1.00/person, max $5.00/family.

In this 1 hour class you will burn calories while toning your arms, legs, abs and glutes. This upbeat class is certain to have you coming back week after week.

Body Blast Fitness Class

Starting January 8th, Tuesdays @ 6pm

If you want a gymnast's body without all the flips and acrobatics, this is the workout for you! This class is a combo of full body conditioning and cardio that will get your heart pumping and help you shred fat and build muscle like a gymnast. Workouts will change from week to week, so you will never get bored. Come workout, listen to some rocking music, and show us your inner Olympian!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Friday February 8th 6-8pm at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. This is a Semi-Formal Dance open to all ages. $5.00 per person. Contact Jackie for more information.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday April 20th, 2:30pm. Ages 12 and younger, multiple age groups for the egg hunt. This is a FREE Community Event. Come out and take pictures with the Easter Bunny!!

Nikiski Youth Track Meet

The annual track meet is held each year in May, the date TBD. The track meet is open to students in 1st-6th Grade. Registration will begin in March.

PickleBall

Pickleball is a paddle sport combining many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Pickleball is held at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. The fee is $1.00, and this activity is open to all adults. Call 776-8800 for the most current schedule.

Full Swing Golf

NPRSA’s Full Swing Golf Simulator is open to users 16 and older.  Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  The simulator has over 40 world-class courses to choose from, and also allows users to practice their swing on the driving range, practice approach shots, and to chip and putt.  The simulator is located at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center.  Reservations are preferred, walk-ins welcome. 

Hours: Monday-Friday 10am-8pm; Saturday 10am-1pm.

Fees: Monday-Thursday, $20/hour. Friday & Saturday, $24/hour. 

  Teen Center

NPRSA’s Teen Center is open to teens, 6th-12th grade. The Teen Center is open year round with transportation available from Nikiski High School during the school year.  The Teen Center is comprised of two rooms filled with games and activities including pool, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, video games, movies, computers, board games and more.  The Teen Center is located in the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Only $1/day or a yearly membership for $50. Please contact the Recreation Department for more information.  

Sring Craft Fair

The Spring Craft is held in April each year. Registration opens in February. Booth spaces are available to vendors for a nominal fee. 

 Community Garage Sale

The Community Garage Sale takes in the spring and/or summer, and is held at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Spaces are available for rent. Contact the Recreation Department for more information.

Family Fun in the Midnight Sun

NPRSA’s Family Fun in the Midnight Sun Event is a community wide event held every year on the third Saturday of June. NPRSA coordinates with local organizations and businesses to organize a fun filled day of activities. Activities include but are not limited to food booths, carnival booths, music, games, a 5K walk/run, children’s field games with prizes, and family prize drawings. The whole community gathers each year on this day to enjoy the sun, the fun, and the games! Booths spaces are available to organizations. Registration begins in April.

Summer Day Camp (1st-5th Grade)

NPRSA’s Summer Day Camp is for boys and girls in 1st through 5th grade. The eight week camp begins in June. The camp runs three days a week utilizing the NPRSA facilities. Activities include swimming, cooking, pottery, arts & crafts, gym games, fitness, nature hikes, sports, and much more! Registration begins in May.

Summer Day Camp (Middle School)

Our Middle School Camp is specifically designed for youth going into 6th-8th Grade. The eight week camp begins in June. The camp runs three days a week utilizing the NPRSA facilities. Activities include swimming, cooking, pottery, fitness, nature hikes, sports, and much more! Registration begins in May.
