Nikiski Community Playground
The community and the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area Board of Directors support the community playground, recognizing its benefit as the only community playground in the Nikiski area.
Located centrally between the Nikiski Pool and the Nikiski Community Recreation Center, the community playground will be uniquely designed with emphasis on wildlife and nature, industry, and the local flare of our wonderful community.
Community playgrounds and parks create a sense of community and common ground. They offer an opportunity for families to connect and give children a chance to learn life lessons, experience success early and to dream big. Our playground will offer free opportunities to get out and play which promotes physical activity and is key to maintaining healthy lifestyles and good health.
Sponsorship Opportunities
The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area has taken the first step in securing legislative funds and appointing a playground design committee to begin work on this project. Funding to this point is limited, and securing additional funding through great sponsors will be necessary to provide the financial opportunity to build a playground the entire community will be proud of. It will also allow the community to take part and have a vested interest in this project.
